On the birthday of St. John Bosco (August 15, 2018), St. Teresa Center for the Works of Mercy purchased a 5000 ft building on W. Port St. in St. Martinville to house a youth center for at risk youth. Oratory of Don Bosco hosted its first two week summer camp July 8 - 12 and July 15-19, 2019. An after school tutoring program for youth in a recreational setting is underway for grades 5th-7th. Older children will have the opportunity for soon to come vocational training.
